The Cathedral Choir

Music serves as an integral part of liturgy at the Cathedral. Our parish is truly blessed with such a vast amount of talent  The choir represents a very wide spectrum of our parish community and is made up of men and women of all ages throughout the greater Syracuse area and suburbs. This ministry is open to all who have a love of music and an interest in choral singing. There is no experience necessary to become a member of the Cathedral Choir and our primary purpose is to offer praise to God through the gift of music. The Cathedral choir sings a wide variety of choral music from Early Renaissance to contemporary sacred choral music. On special occasions, the choir is joined by brass, strings, soloists and other instrumentalists from throughout the Syracuse area.

The Cathedral Choir sings each Sunday at the 9:45 am liturgy. The choir season begins in September after Labor Day and goes through mid-June. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm in the choir room located on the second floor of the Rectory building. On Sunday morning the choir has warm-up beginning at 8:30 in the choir room prior to the 9:45 liturgy. On occasion, the choir may also be asked to rehearse briefly following mass at 11:00 am. The choir meets after the 9:45 liturgy for coffee and fellowship each week.
